Apple Bananas, 4 Bananas
Brown Sugar, 1/2 Cup
Lumpia Wrappers, 8 Wrappers

Ingredients

  • 4 apple bananas, ripe but firm
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 8 lumpia wrappers
  • oil for frying

Directions

  1. Peel the apple banana and cut in half length wise. Roll in brown sugar.
  2. Wrap the banana slice with a lumpia wrapper. Imagine making a burrito.
  3. Deep fry in oil heated to medium high until golden brown on both sides.
  4. Drain the lumpis on paper towels. Serve immediately.

Notes: You could also add chopped nuts to sugar. Chocolate pieces or peanut butter can be spread on the banana. One of the classic additions in the Philippines is sweetened jackfruit. Ice cream is also a nice accompaniment.
